Jegoplay President Li Huihua was invited to Attend the China Theme Park Development Forum and Deliver a Keynote Speech
On November 16, 2024, the 6th China Theme Park Development Forum was grandly held in Beijing, and the much-anticipated "2024 China Theme Park Competitiveness Evaluation Report" was released concurrently. With the theme of "New Ideas Sharing and Innovative Breakthroughs in Theme Parks," this edition of the forum attracted representatives from well-known theme parks such as Shanghai Disney Resort, Universal Studios Beijing, Puy du Fou, Happy Valley, Fantawild, Chimelong, and Haichang, as well as institutions like Tencent's Cultural Tourism Industry Research Institute. In addition, heads of cultural tourism departments from some municipal and county governments, industry enterprise representatives, and media journalists also attended the event.
The forum was chaired by Professor Lou Jiajun from East China Normal University. At the outset, Professor Guo Hongjun, a cultural scholar, and Lin Huanjie, Dean of the China Theme Park Research Institute, delivered opening remarks, expressing their heartfelt congratulations on the successful organization of the forum. They highlighted the pivotal role of theme parks in fostering cultural exchange, enhancing societal well-being, and stimulating local economic growth. They emphasized that theme parks serve not only as venues for entertainment and leisure but also as platforms for cultural heritage, creative expression, and technological innovation. Looking ahead, the industry should tap into China's rich traditional culture, integrate modern technology, and create theme park brands with international impact. This will promote the integrated innovation of the cultural and tourism industries and further meet the growing spiritual and cultural needs of the people.
According to statistics, as of October 2024, there are a total of 385 theme parks in our country, of which 87 are extra-large and large theme parks, and 298 are medium and small theme parks. Research data shows that 59% of theme parks have achieved operational profitability, and the industry as a whole is showing a strong growth trend. Each yuan of operational revenue from theme parks can drive 3.8 yuan of economic income for the city, further stimulating 6 to 15 yuan of upstream and downstream industrial chain income, fully reflecting the huge driving effect of theme parks on local economies and related industries.
Jegoplay, as a company deeply involved in the parent-child cultural tourism industry, was invited to participate and won the "2024 Family Entertainment Excellence Award". During the keynote speech session, Mr. Li Huihua, President of Jegoplay, delivered a speech titled "Creating an Immersive Aesthetic Experience for Parent-Child Amusement", in which he deeply introduced how Jego enhances parent-child interaction and visitor participation through six operational experiences: IP empowerment, aesthetic design, immersive scene creation, diversified business formats, research and study systems, and night economy.
One of the highlights of the forum was the unveiling of the "2024 China Theme Park Competitiveness Evaluation Report". The report employs a rigorous and scientific evaluation system to conduct a comprehensive analysis of 86 extra-large and large-scale theme parks across the country, considering factors such as investment scale, market impact, and operational performance. The data reveals that these theme parks welcomed a total of 130 million visitors in 2023, generating operating revenues of 30.389 billion yuan. Compared to the previous year, the number of visitors increased by 71.84%, and the operating revenue grew by 97.86%, demonstrating a robust growth trend and highlighting the industry's vibrant dynamism.
Participants generally agreed that this forum provided a high-level exchange platform for the industry, showcasing the broad prospects of China's theme parks in the integration and innovation of cultural tourism. They expressed that they will take this forum as an opportunity to work together and promote the Chinese theme park industry to new heights.
